Obituary for Johnnie Mae Brown

Johnnie Mae Brown, of Altamonte Springs was born on November 9, 1962 to the late Johnny Brown and Ruby Brown.

In addition to her father, Johnny Brown, Johnny Mae is preceded in death by her sister, Kim Brown.

On the morning of November 13, 2018 at her home, where she has resided since 1999, she closed her eyes and made a peaceful transition from death to eternal life.

Johnny Mae attended Seminole County Public Schools and graduated from Lyman High School, where she was a devoted and active member of the band. Later, she attended Seminole Community College, where she became a Certified Nurses Assistant.

While in high school, Johnnie Mae met Earl Lee Wilson, and out of this courtship came three children: Travis Brown, Tiffany Brown and Taurus Brown. Later in 1989, Johnnie Mae relocated to Topeka, Kansas, where she started a new life and raised her children. She also continued her career at the Topeka State Hospital. She lived in Kansas for ten years before becoming disabled and moved back to her hometown of Altamonte Springs, Florida to be near family.

Since 2008, she was under the spiritual leadership of Pastor and Co-Pastor Milton and Juene Wilson.

Johnnie Mae struggled with multiple illnesses and was in and out of the hospital over the last ten years. In 2011, Johnnie Mae became paralyzed and was bed ridden up until her death. Yet determined, she was still full of life and tried to make the best of the way things were. Along her bedside, her daughter Tiffany and loving sister Ebony Gooden, whom helped carry out her daily life skills up until her death; whom she was very grateful for.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving mother, Ruby Gooden; two sons, Travis Brown and Taurus Brown; one daughter, Tiffany Brown; one brother, Marcus Jackson; two sisters, Nancy Brown and Ebony Gooden; five grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; a special friend, Roosevelt of Orlando, Florida.
