My son was shot and killed on August 23. After getting back home 5 hours later, my head still reeling; my body numb; I made the call to Hayes Brothers. I was made to feel at ease. I only went to the funeral home three times this included the parents time alone with our son. Each time we or I went there was genuine love shown, prayers were prayed for us and over us. They went above and beyond to make sure viewing was executed safely, with dignity, and the upmost respect. I was told that Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Hayes, Mr. Donald Hayes, along with Maurice Hayes and other family members were there serving. It's one thing to watch excellence done as one of the Lady Attendance of Hayes Bros. Funeral Home. But as I experienced being a family requiring their service, they well exceeded the excellence they strive for. I told Maurice to do what he thought would be best. And he did just that. From the haircut of my son, to the programs, to family and friends viewing. Words can't express my gratitude to Maurice and the Hayes Bros. Staff for doing such an outstanding job! Family and friends are still speaking of how good my son looked, how nice and efficient everything was. My parents had just moved to FL from VA when my dad suddenly passed away, My mom didn’t know where to turn. We were referred to Hayes Brothers Funeral Home. From the very beginning everyone that we spoke with was very kind, helpful and sympathetic. My family and I couldn’t have asked for better treatment, care, consideration and thoughtfulness towards us at this sad time in our lives. The staff were very kind and warm as we went through the process. They went above and beyond to make sure that my dad was perfectly taken care of and that we were protected because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Larry Christian was an extraordinary man, husband, father, and leader. He was a connector. He brought vision and mission a platform called reality and challenged you to get because it was destiny and greatness he saw in your path, not evil and failure. Larry was my brother. The day he joined heavens cloud of witnesses, to cheer us on, he was preparing a Zoom meeting for me and my brothers. He accepted my status in distance, but kept me close in exemplary brotherly love without the pretentious judgements. He loved The Lord and His Family and Kappa deeply. When we spoke, we always covers all three bases. He’ll be remembered as life giving. Life appreciating. One who connected missing and broken pieces to complex puzzles, as a master gardener in complex world.
